Ball bearing units combine a cast-iron or composite housing with a sealed insert bearing whose extended inner ring is locked to the shaft by grub screws (UC/YAR), an eccentric collar (YET) or a tapered sleeve. They are selected by shaft diameter and housing form: pillow block (UCP, SY, SYJ, P2B), four-bolt square flange (UCF, FY, F4B), two-bolt oval flange (UCFL, FYTB, FYT, F2B), three-bolt round flange (UCFC, FYC), take-up units (UCT, TU) and hanger units. Metric shafts follow the 2xx size code (UCP 204 = 20 mm, UCP 205 = 25 mm … UCP 210 = 50 mm); inch shafts are stated as fractions (SY 1.1/2 TF = 1½ in). The finder lists the catalogue by shaft diameter with one column per housing form so a unit of any make can be matched by shaft and mounting.
Housing bolt spacing and height to shaft centre are standardised per size across UC-type makes (ISO 3228), so a UCP 205 from one manufacturer normally fits the footprint of another; confirm the insert locking type and seal (standard, triple-lip, stainless). Replacement inserts are ordered alone (UC 205, YAR 205-2F, 1726205-2RS1) when the housing is undamaged. Stainless units (SUCP, SY..TF/VA201) are used in washdown areas.
