Loctite SI 5980 Quick Gasket Flexible Silicone Black 300ml Cartridge

Loctite SI 5980 (Quick Gasket) is a one-component, alkoxy (low-odour) RTV silicone designed for gasketing applications with resistance to automotive engine oils. It cures at room temperature with humidity to a flexible rubber and withstands on-line, low-pressure tests carried out before the product begins to cure. Typical uses include stamped sheet-metal covers such as timing covers and oil sumps where good oil resistance and high joint-movement capability are required.

Technology silicone; chemical type alkoxy silicone, one component, no mixing, thixotropic, room-temperature vulcanising (RTV). Uncured black paste; density 1.2 to 1.4 g/cm3 @ 25 degC; extrusion rate 120 to 325 g/min (0.62 MPa, 25 degC); solids/non-volatile content 99.75 percent. Tack-free time 15 to 45 minutes; cures with ambient humidity (depth of cure increases over days, temperature/humidity dependent). Cured properties

Shore A hardness approximately 27 (ISO 868); tensile strength approximately 1.6 N/mm2 (230 psi) and elongation at break approximately 290 percent (ISO 37); coefficient of thermal expansion 240 x 10^-6 K^-1 (ISO 11359-2); linear shrinkage approximately 1.0 percent (ISO 1675).
