Loctite SI 5980 (Quick Gasket) is a one-component, alkoxy (low-odour) RTV silicone designed for gasketing applications with excellent resistance to automotive engine oils. It cures at room temperature with humidity to a flexible rubber and withstands on-line, low-pressure tests carried out before the product begins to cure. Typical uses include stamped sheet-metal covers such as timing covers and oil sumps where good oil resistance and high joint-movement capability are required.
