REACH SVHC, RoHS, WEEE, ECHA SCIP, conflict-minerals and packaging reporting for cballast.com orders.

Regulatory framework we work within

Items supplied via cBallast meet the EU regulatory regime applicable to the destination country. Statements made on this page reflect the manufacturer declarations attached to each consignment.

  • REACH (EC) 1907/2006 -- Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) declarations supplied per article on request.
  • RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU and (EU) 2015/863 -- restriction of hazardous substances in EEE; declaration accompanies electrical and electronic items as published by the OEM.
  • POPs Regulation (EU) 2019/1021 -- persistent organic pollutants.
  • CLP (EC) 1272/2008 -- classification, labelling and packaging of substances.
  • Battery Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 -- battery passport and labelling on items with embedded batteries.
  • WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU -- waste electrical and electronic equipment marking and producer-responsibility registration.
  • Packaging Regulation (EU) 2025/40 -- packaging recyclability and recycled-content content reporting.
  • ECHA SCIP database -- article-level SVHC reporting for items placed on the EU market.

Material declarations

Material composition data is provided in the form the OEM publishes it. For pressure-containing parts and structural items this is typically EN 10204 type 2.1 / 2.2 / 3.1 with material grade and chemical composition; for electrical equipment it is the manufacturer's material declaration plus the relevant directive declarations.

REACH SVHC reporting

Articles containing more than 0.1 % w/w of an SVHC on the Candidate List are notified on the commercial invoice and the SCIP-database article identifier supplied where the OEM has registered the article.

For mixed assemblies (a panel or skid built from multiple OEM components), the SVHC report is consolidated at quotation stage so each line item has its declaration attached.

Conflict minerals (3TG)

On request and where the OEM publishes the data, conflict-minerals reporting per the OECD Due Diligence Guidance / EU Regulation (EU) 2017/821 is supplied as a CMRT (Conflict Minerals Reporting Template) form. The 3TG metals covered are tin, tantalum, tungsten and gold.

Packaging and shipping

Items dispatched from the cBallast warehouse use FSC-certified cardboard outer packaging where the item allows. Single-use plastics are restricted to ESD-sensitive items and chemical bottles where safety requires it.

Wood packaging (pallets, dunnage, crates) carries the ISPM 15 heat-treated and IPPC-stamped marking required for international shipment.

Customer-nominated packaging instructions are followed where supplied at order stage (vacuum-sealed, polythene-wrapped, sea-worthy export crate, GMP-grade pharma packaging).

Take-back and recycling

End-of-life return is supported on items for which the OEM operates a take-back scheme -- UV-lamp recycling (mercury-containing lamps under WEEE / RoHS), industrial-battery recycling, electronics recycling.

Where the OEM does not operate a scheme, items are routed to the destination country's regulated waste-handler. cBallast does not accept end-of-life consignments at the Norway origin address unless agreed in writing.

Carbon and freight choice

Default freight choice is the carrier and routing that best fits the buyer's lead-time requirement; sea-freight is preferred over air where the lead time allows. Direct-to-vessel and direct-to-plant deliveries are coordinated with the buyer's nominated forwarder to avoid double-handling.

Document-only items

Where an order can be settled with documentation only (datasheet, COO, EN 10204 certificate re-issue), no physical consignment is sent.
