Loctite LB 8040 Freeze & Release Penetrating Lubricant 400ml Aerosol

Loctite LB 8040 (known as Freeze & Release) is a mineral-oil aerosol formulated to free rusted, corroded and seized parts. The shock-freezing effect of the lubricant stream chills the part to around -43 degC, causing microscopic cracks in the rust layer; the lubricating ingredients then wick into the rust by capillary action. Released parts remain lubricated and protected from further corrosion. A typical maintenance critical spare for releasing seized fasteners, pins and fittings.

Technology lubricant; chemical type mineral oil. Amber colour. Density 0.6 g/ml @ 20 degC; lubricant viscosity below 5 mPa.s (cP). Maximum chill-down approximately -43 degC. Dispensed by spray; no cure. Directions

remove dirt and loose rust, shake well, spray at 10 to 15 cm onto the fastener for 5 to 10 seconds, allow to react 1 to 2 minutes before attempting release, repeat if needed. Pressurised aerosol container -- protect from sunlight, do not expose above 50 degC, do not pierce or burn, keep away from ignition sources.
