Zerust ICT420-170 VCI Chips are small kraft-paper chips impregnated with a multimetal vapor corrosion inhibitor (VCI) for temporary corrosion protection of mixed-metal parts in bags, boxes and bins. Scatter the chips among the parts and seal the package; the chips emit invisible, odorless, non-toxic VCI molecules that settle onto exposed metal and dissipate on opening. Each 1 in × 1 in chip protects up to 0.018 ft³ (0.0005 m³, about ½ liter) of enclosed volume for years in a sealed enclosure. The multimetal formulation protects ferrous metals, aluminum, brass, copper and zinc. Available as 1 in × 1 in (2,500/bag 320-M-00004; 25,000/bag 320-M-00005) and 2 in × 2 in (10,000/bag 320-M-00007). Zerust part number 320-M-00004.
