Loctite Hydraulic & Pneumatic Thread Sealant Brown 50ml

Loctite 542 is a one-component anaerobic thread sealant for the locking and sealing of metal pipes and fittings, particularly fine threads such as those used on hydraulic and pneumatic systems. It cures when confined in the absence of air between close-fitting metal surfaces and prevents loosening and leakage from shock and vibration. The thixotropic nature of the product reduces migration of liquid after application.

specific gravity @ 25 degC 1.06; viscosity Brookfield RVT 25 degC spindle 2 / 2.5 rpm 1,200 to 2,750 mPa.s (cP), spindle 2 / 20 rpm 400 to 800 mPa.s; viscosity EN 12092 MV 25 degC after 180 s, shear rate 277 s-1, 150 mPa.s. Typical cured performance after 24 hours @ 22 degC: breakaway torque ISO 10964 on M10 steel nuts and bolts 15 N.m (130 lb.in); prevail torque ISO 10964 9 N.m (80 lb.in); compressive shear strength ISO 10123 on steel pins and collars 6.5 N/mm2 (940 psi).
