Danfoss BSV 8 safety relief valve, G 3/4 in x 1 in, set pressure 18 bar (261 psig), TUV pressure-setting certificate (code 2416+207)
Danfoss · HVAC & Refrigeration · Safety Relief Valves
Danfoss BSV 8 back-pressure-independent safety relief valve, code 2416+207, set pressure 18 bar (261 psig). The BSV 8 is an angle-way safety relief valve designed to protect small refrigeration components against excessive pressure, and is also used as the pilot valve for the pilot-operated internal safety valve type POV. Because it is back-pressure independent it is recommended as an internal safety relief valve, but can equally serve as an external safety relief valve; the spring housing is tightly sealed against refrigerant leakage. Inlet connection G 3/4 in, outlet 1 in (ISO 228-1 parallel pipe thread); inlet flow diameter 8.0 mm (5/16 in), flow area 50 mm2 (0.078 in2), certified discharge coefficient (Kdr) 0.43, lift 1.45 mm. Body is special steel approved for low-temperature service; spindle and seat are stainless steel. Media temperature range -30 to 100 C (-22 to 212 F) when used as an external safety relief valve. Set after adjustment at the Danfoss factory and sealed; supplied with a TUV pressure-setting certificate. PED conformity assessment category IV. Strength-test pressure 43 bar (624 psig); leakage-safety pressure 25 bar (363 psig). Applicable to common HFC/HCFC refrigerants and to R717 (ammonia) and R744 (CO2). Specifications per Danfoss store code 2416+207.

Compatibility
Danfoss BSV 8 safety relief valve. Select strictly by required set pressure (this code is 18 bar / 261 psig); set pressures from 10 to 25 bar are available as separate order codes and are factory-sealed after adjustment. The valve is back-pressure independent so it can be used as an internal or external safety relief valve, and as the pilot valve for the type POV pilot-operated internal safety valve. Two certificate options exist at each set pressure: a Danfoss pressure certificate (T2xx codes) or a TUV pressure-setting certificate (T3xx codes) — this code carries the TUV pressure-setting certificate. Suitable for HCFC/HFC, R717 (ammonia) and R744 (CO2) refrigeration plant.
