SITA builds three lamp technologies: low-pressure lamps of 12-80 W in the AL, LCD / Rack LCD and Pool series, low-pressure amalgam lamps in the AM, IT, 440, HDPE, TOC and GR series, and medium-pressure lamps from 300 W to 12 kW in the SMP, SBT and SSD series. The lamp, the quartz sleeve and the sleeve O-ring form one set per model: a lamp of the right wattage in a sleeve of the wrong length or diameter will not seal. Identify parts by the OEM reference on the old part or by the model and serial number on the chamber name plate.

Service notes

• Lamp life — 9,000 h for the low-pressure 40 W and 80 W lamps, 14,000-16,000 h for amalgam lamps, up to 10,000 h for medium-pressure lamps. Reset the hour counter at every lamp change.
• Sleeve and O-ring — the 40-80 series uses a 23 mm sleeve with a 23 x 4 mm O-ring (SI028061) under gland SI028060; the 400 and SMP series use a 38 mm sleeve with a 38 x 5 mm O-ring (028207). Fit new O-rings whenever a sleeve is pulled.
• 400 series versions — lamp cables with the 4-pin amalgam socket differ for systems built before and from 04/2015, and the contact cover kit UVCCK400/1 is for the first version. State the year of manufacture.
• Starters and ballasts — UV652S, UV653S, UV655S, UV660, UV660S, UV670 and UV672SMB belong to different panel generations; UV655S supersedes UV659 Plus. Quote the marking on the installed card.
• Wiper systems — automatic sleeve cleaning on the 400, SMP and 440 series uses PTFE wiper rings and disks sized to the 38 mm sleeve; replace rings that no longer clear the sleeve and check the rod seal (9 x 22 x 7 mm on SMP).
