Wiper ring for the quartz sleeves of older-generation Berson ultraviolet disinfection systems. It is the wearing part of the sleeve-cleaning mechanism: it wipes away scale, mineral deposits and other fouling so UV output reaches the water rather than being absorbed by the sleeve.
