How to identify the right spare for an LU-VE commercial unit cooler: which fan motor, blade, guard grille, motor bracket, front cover and defrost rod belongs to the F27HC, F30HC/F31HC, F35HC, S2HC/S3HC and SHA/FHA families, using the part numbers stocked in the catalogue.

Know the family first

LU-VE's commercial cooler families each pair specific fans, guards and heaters, and the spare must match the family — not just the fan diameter. The catalogue's coverage, family by family:

Cooler familyStocked spares
F27HC (and NEX-27) / S2HCEC fan motor, 2-speed, fan blade 275-28, guard grille, motor bracket, defrost rod 2000 W (4-fan)
F30HC / F31HCA4E300 motor (F30HC), A4E315 motor (F31HC), guard grille, motor bracket, defrost rod 850 W (1-fan), fan ring heater 140 W
F35HCV350/B motor 175 W, defrost rod 800 W coil (2-fan), drip-tray rod 940 W (4-fan)
S3HCmotor bracket (internal-guard model)
SHA / FHA / HAEC 2-speed motor (FHA), front covers SHA 27/17–SHA 106/70, defrost rods 500 W–2380 W

Reading what you have

The cooler's data plate gives family, size and fan count — e.g. an F31HC 335 E9 (CO2 60 bar, EC fans) is an F31HC family, size 335, E9 fin pitch, three fans. Spares split by family and by fan count: defrost rods are listed per cooler-with-N-fans because rod length follows the casing. When the plate is gone, measure fan diameter and casing length and compare against the family's dimensions in LU-VE documentation, then confirm with the spare's own fit list — every catalogue spare names its families.

Fan motor replacement practice

Defrost heaters

Electric defrost rods come as coil-block elements and drip-tray elements; both must match family, fan-count length and wattage — the catalogue listings state all three (e.g. 165 W air-deflector rod for the small coolers). Ring heaters around the fan throat (F31HC) prevent the fan freezing to the ring in low-temperature rooms. After replacement, verify defrost termination temperature and that all rods draw current — one dead rod in a block shows up as patchy ice, then as a bent fan blade. The CTE/CDC, GCE/CGC and MIC families' rods are covered in the same pattern — e.g. CTE/CDC 353 A8 coil rod, GCE/CGC 311 HP coil rod.

For complete coolers rather than spares, the catalogue lists LU-VE units with CO2 and HFC configurations (e.g. F27HC 16 E7, EC fan); for condensers see GCE 311 F4 and the condensing-unit guide.
