Cross-references hydraulic hose product families across Parker, Gates and Alfagomma against the SAE J517 and EN 853 / 856 / 857 standards. Covers braided (1-wire, 2-wire) and spiral (4-wire, 6-wire) construction, working-pressure classes, minimum bend radius, temperature range and dry-bulk conveyance restrictions. Also lists common end-fitting series (Parker 43, Gates GlobalSpiral, Alfagomma HFL / HDR) and the crimp-die cross-reference chart.
Standard families
Hydraulic hoses used in industrial and mobile equipment fall into two governing standards: SAE J517 (100R series) covers hoses to imperial working pressures, and EN 853 / EN 856 / EN 857 covers the metric equivalents used in European OEM equipment. Most Tier-1 hose manufacturers publish their range against both standards; the SAE and EN grades below are cross-referenced pairwise so a buyer can substitute across the two families where the working pressure and bore match.
Rubber hydraulic hose — SAE and EN cross-reference
Working pressure — nominal system pressure with 4:1 safety factor; verify against pump peak, not average.
Bore (DN) — sized for the fluid velocity target (2-4 m/s suction, 5-8 m/s pressure line).
Bend radius — hose OD tracked routing must respect minimum bend radius from the datasheet; sharp bends halve the fatigue life.
Temperature range — hose cover and tube compound rated for fluid + ambient; standard rubber tolerates -40 to +100 °C, high-temperature compounds extend to +150 °C.
