Typical applications are stamped sheet-metal covers such as timing covers and oil sumps where oil resistance and tolerance of high joint movement are required; the thixotropic nature reduces migration of product after application. Resistant to automotive engine oils. Gap fill up to 1 mm (0.039 in) with cure-through volume of 2.75 mm (0.108 in) in 24 h. Specific gravity 1.34 at 20 degC; tensile strength at 100% elongation 0.6 to 1.0 N/mm2; lap-shear strength tested per ISO 4587. Operating temperature -54 to +200 degC.
