The CBS-1600A monitors sixteen circuits for earth leakage from a single three-module-wide unit, each channel through its own external toroidal transformer of the Circutor WGC range. Circutor's own designation for it is "multi-channel leakage current monitoring relay, type A". Every channel is measured and displayed independently, so the unit answers the question a single relay cannot: not merely that the installation is leaking, but which of the sixteen outgoing ways is doing it. Sensitivity is adjustable from 30 to 3000 mA. Two change-over output relays provide the alarm and the pre-alarm, and an integrated RS-485 port speaks Modbus/RTU so the readings can be logged continuously rather than read off the front panel after a trip — the basis of preventive rather than reactive maintenance.
