The press ring applies the sealing load at the quartz sleeve joint on Wedeco TAK series reactors. It is a load-bearing component rather than a seal itself: a distorted or reused ring gives uneven compression, which is a common cause of a joint that will not stop weeping after a sleeve change. Wedeco was founded in Herford, Germany in 1976 and is now a Xylem brand.
