Wiper seal for the automatic quartz sleeve wiper system of TrojanUVSwift SCB, SCC and SCD ultraviolet reactors. The seal is the wiping element itself, running in contact with the quartz sleeve on every stroke. Scale and biofilm build up on the outside of the quartz sleeve and absorb UV before it reaches the water, so a fouled sleeve cuts the delivered dose while the lamp itself is still perfectly good. It is a consumable: as it hardens and loses its interference fit the wipe becomes incomplete, so it is replaced on a service interval rather than on failure.
