The sprung retainer that sits in the lamp holder behind a UV lamp and keeps it pressed against its end connector. It holds the electrical contact sound under vibration and through the thermal cycling of every start and stop, and stops the lamp creeping along the quartz sleeve as it heats and cools. It is a low-cost consumable that is worth renewing whenever the lamp it supports is changed: a spring that has lost tension gives the intermittent contact, flickering strike and short lamp life that are usually blamed on the lamp itself. Although it is described against the SCC, the same spring is listed across a wide span of Trojan UV Swift and UV Logic reactors, and for the Aquafine SBV300. Item number 15103-1212. Supplied by cBallast on quote-to-invoice terms; lead time and freight are quoted per RFQ against the destination Incoterm.
