Loctite 480 rubber-toughened, low-viscosity black cyanoacrylate instant adhesive with increased flexibility, peel and impact/shock resistance; for bonding metal, rubber and select plastics. Used by maintenance technicians and installation crews across industrial, marine and construction service.
| Technology cyanoacrylate; chemical type ethyl cyanoacrylate, rubber-toughened; black liquid (uncured). Low viscosity; one component, surface-moisture initiated cure. Specific gravity 1.1 @ 25 degC; Brookfield LVF viscosity (25 degC) spindle 1 @ 6 rpm. Fixture time varies by substrate (time to 0.1 N/mm2 shear at 22 degC / 50% RH); cure speed increases with thinner bond lines and higher humidity, and can be accelerated with activator on large gaps. Cured physical properties tested per ISO 11359-2 (coefficient of thermal expansion). 48-hour cure at 23 degC required for NSF 61 applications. Operating temperature -40 to +120 degC. 20 g bottle. | |
