The sleeve houses the UV lamp inside the reactor chamber, protecting it from water while transmitting the UV output required for disinfection. Manufactured from high-purity quartz glass for long service life. Berson recommends cleaning the sleeve once per year and replacing it every 3 to 5 years to preserve UV output.
