Abiko AKP50 — aluminium-copper (AlCu) bimetallic pin socket that terminates a 50 mm² (stranded) / 70 mm² (solid) aluminium conductor and presents a 9.6 mm solid copper pin for connection to copper-terminal apparatus such as screw or clamp terminals, isolators and circuit-breakers. The aluminium compression barrel is friction-welded to the copper pin from solid material, joining the dissimilar metals directly without a bimetal washer, and an internal oil-stop barrier separates the conductor from the pin. Two compression crimps are made on the aluminium barrel with the matching die; overall length 88 mm, strip length 45 mm. Accepts solid (IEC 60228 Class 1) and stranded (Class 2) aluminium conductors and is tested to IEC 61238-1. RoHS 2011/65/EU, REACH; CE, UKCA marked.
